REJECT WINNITY Become Apex Legends Global Series 2024 Champions

REJECT WINNITY have etched their name in history as the first APAC North organization to win the ALGS 2024. This is the region's inaugural victory in a global LAN event for Apex Legends, and the Japanese squad can proudly call themselves Apex Legends world champions.

The team, headquartered in Japan and comprised of South Korean players Lim “Obly” Jung-hyun, Lee “KaronPe” Min-hyuk, and Han “SangJoon” Sang-jun, along with coach Kim “ahn2e” Gun-ho, stunned everyone, including the powerhouse competitors, and defeated every opponent to emerge victorious in the tournament. REJECT were the last team standing after surpassing 39 competing teams, including dominant forces in Apex Legends like DarkZero Esports and TSM from North America, as well as their most fierce contenders from APAC South.

RCW secured the coveted top prize of US$300,000 along with 500 Playoff Points crucial for qualifying in the ALGS 2024 Championship, the pinnacle event of the esports circuit.

REJECT, the first APAC North team to clinch an Apex Legends global LAN tournament victory, achieved this feat after a strategic partnership with WINNITY. Following the expiration of their contracts with REALIZE, they recruited Obly, KaronPe, and SangJoon, significantly boosting their team with the much-needed expertise of these Apex Legends veterans.

RCW earned their spot in the ALGS 2024 Split 1 Playoffs, held from May 2 to 5 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, USA, after securing a runner-up finish behind Fnatic in the Apex Legends regional league.

During the Group Stage, RCW reached fifth place with 136 points, advancing to the winners' bracket of the Bracket Stage. They further boosted their position's security by getting 59 more points, placing second behind Fnatic and gaining a head start for the Finals.

In the climactic Finals, REJECT WINNITY and former world champion DarkZero Esports were the first to reach match point after gathering 55 points each across five games. Despite several attempts by various teams to claim victory, including Fnatic, Not Moist, Legends Gaming, Aurora Gaming, and Disguised, neither RCW nor DarkZero Esports could secure the win in the ensuing rounds.

However, maintaining composure, the South Korean trio strategically positioned themselves in the final battle on World’s Edge during the eighth game.
